During this time of Advent we are preparing for the coming of our Lord into this world as a humble babe.  But Holy Mother Church has also been making us aware of and preparing us during this season for the second advent of our Lord when He will come as "The Lion of the Tribe of Judah" with a conquering sword.  With that being said there are many false teachings about the End Times and what will occur.  Some groups have gone so far as to equate the Catholic Church with the harlot that is mentioned in the book of Revelation.  This is an old anti-catholic poleminc that has found fertile ground in many Fundamentalist churches.  Check out this great articcle by James Akin that deals with this specific accusation.
